Dancefloor Weekly: UK Dance Top 10 & New House Music | 23 Oct 2026

Friday 23 October 2026

The UK dance chart holds firm, Chromeo makes a big move, and fresh tracks from KETTAMA, Prospa, FISHER, Alesso and HUGEL give DJs plenty to explore.

There is something satisfying about a dance record that works in more than one setting: a proper club floor, a packed party, or a wedding where the crowd wants to stay out for one more tune. This week, the UK's established dance favourites sit alongside an exciting run of house, tech-house and EDM releases. Welcome to PLM Dancefloor Weekly, our regular look at the records getting attention on the charts and the tracks worth considering for your next set. We combine published chart evidence with a working DJ's judgement. This is a curated editorial feature, not a claim that every track below has been personally road-tested. Chart timing: This edition is dated 23 October 2026. At the time of research on Friday morning, the latest verifiable Official Dance Singles Chart covered 16--22 October 2026. Its rankings are reproduced below with that date clearly identified; they are not presented as a newly published 23 October chart. Official UK Dance Singles Top 10 --- chart dated 16--22 October 2026 1. Movin' To The Sun --- HUGEL, Imael Angel & Ultra Naté (last week: 1) 2. Free Your Mind --- Prospa & Cloonee (2) 3. Talk To You --- ANOTR feat. 54 Ultra (3) 4. Good Girl --- Cloonee & Prospa feat. Tristan (4) 5. On 2nite --- Silva Bumpa (5) 6. Hey Everybody (Back In The Dance) --- Kolter (6) 7. Dancing On My Own --- Robyn (7) 8. Fancy Footwork --- Chromeo (up from 21) 9. No Broke Boys --- Disco Lines & Tinashe (9) 10. Jamaican (Bam Bam) --- HUGEL & SOLTO (down from 8) The top seven stayed in place, but Chromeo's Fancy Footwork supplied the standout top-ten move, climbing 13 places to No. 8. It is an interesting reminder that dance-chart activity can reward rediscovered catalogue tracks as well as brand-new records. Source: Official Charts, 16--22 October 2026. House and tech house: the Beatport picture For DJs looking beyond the UK singles chart, Beatport's overall Top 100 offers a different perspective. In the snapshot checked for this edition, Think of You by KETTAMA and Prospa held No. 1 overall, Fancy Footwork by Chris Lorenzo and Chromeo was No. 2, and DANGER DANGER by Dom Dolla, Solomun and Skepta was No. 3. These are Beatport download-chart positions, not UK Official Charts positions, and may change throughout the day. The genre lists add useful detail: Think of You led Beatport House, while DANGER DANGER topped Beatport Tech House. Joey London Style and Pheelo's Never Stop and Jairo Delli's Ritmo followed at No. 2 and No. 3 on the tech-house list. For working DJs, this is a strong cluster of records to audition when building a tougher late-night section. New releases to hear this week The confirmed 16 October release wave deserves attention. FISHER and LAUREL's Staring At The Sun brings an emotive vocal-led approach to house; Alesso and Kaitlin Aragon's Fight For Love provides a melodic EDM alternative; and HUGEL and Snoop Dogg's H.O.U.S.E takes a crossover route into club music. All three featured in EDM House Network's 16 October new-release roundup, and their Apple Music UK catalogue listings were matched for this edition. Also released on 16 October, Think of You by KETTAMA and Prospa, Ritmo by Jairo Delli, and DANCE by Torren Foot and rhys from the sticks offer three different directions for DJs wanting a fresher house and tech-house crate. Release dates were cross-checked against Beatport and Apple Music catalogue metadata. Chart risers and new entries There is more movement below the UK top ten. Fancy Footwork rose from No. 21 to No. 8, Rather Be by Clean Bandit feat. Jess Glynne climbed from No. 37 to No. 26, and World Hold On (FISHER Rework) by Bob Sinclar feat. Steve Edwards moved from No. 29 to No. 24. Carnage by Chase & Status feat. Little Simz entered the UK dance chart at No. 13. These movements refer to the 16--22 October Official Dance Singles Chart, not an unpublished later edition. PLM's five essential DJ picks 1. KETTAMA & Prospa --- Think of You. The current Beatport overall and House No. 1 is the first track I would audition for a contemporary club-house set. The driving 134 BPM listing makes it particularly interesting for higher-energy transitions. 2. Chris Lorenzo & Chromeo --- Fancy Footwork. A timely crossover pick: the song is climbing the UK dance chart while the Chris Lorenzo version is performing strongly on Beatport. Check the exact mix before preparing cues. 3. Dom Dolla, Solomun & Skepta --- DANGER DANGER. A leading tech-house choice with a recognisable collaboration and a 130 BPM extended mix on Beatport. 4. FISHER & LAUREL --- Staring At The Sun. A vocal-led option for lifting the mood without abandoning a house groove. 5. Chase & Status feat. Little Simz --- Carnage. A new UK chart entry and a change of pace for DJs who want a harder-edged moment in the right set. These are editorial DJ selections, not a separate official ranking. Dancefloor predictions: what to watch next My watchlist for the coming week centres on three possibilities. First, the new 16 October releases could gain traction as more DJs pick them up. Second, the unusual double showing for Fancy Footwork---a strong Beatport version and a UK chart riser---makes it worth watching for further crossover attention. Third, vocal-led house from Staring At The Sun and Fight For Love could prove more adaptable for mixed-format events than the harder tech-house cuts. These are predictions, not confirmed chart movements or claims of audience response. The PLM weekly hotlist This week's PLM Hot Dance, House & EDM selection brings together 20 Apple Music UK catalogue-matched tracks spanning chart favourites, new releases and club-focused house. The playlist is a draft, with track versions checked against catalogue listings. It has not been automatically added to a personal Apple Music library. At PLM Entertainments & Events, we believe the best DJ sets balance new discoveries with the records people already love. That is what this weekly series is all about: finding music that earns its place on the dancefloor. It's all about the experience.
